Title: Mid-Season Reflections: Strengths, Setbacks, and the Road Ahead

Reviewing the Match Against FC Tertons

It was a high-tempo encounter, and we came out firing in the first 15 minutes, asserting dominance early on. Unfortunately, despite our aggressive start, we couldn’t convert that momentum into a goal. The match leveled out thereafter, but we managed to take the lead from a well-executed quick corner. In the second half, we had a golden opportunity to double our advantage but missed the chance—and they punished us on the counter. That’s football: it rewards precision and punishes hesitation. We must be more clinical when chances come our way.

Unbeaten So Far—But Not Complacent

Our unbeaten run continues, and that remains a key target for us this season. Interestingly, we’ve noticed that every opponent raises their game against us—which is actually a positive, as it keeps our squad sharp and mentally prepared. With the first round nearly done, there’s still no clear front-runner, which speaks volumes about the competitiveness and balance in the league this year.

Team Assessment: Strengths and Areas to Improve

One of our biggest strengths is squad depth. Even without some of our key players, we’ve managed to deliver strong performances. We’ve also had multiple goal-scorers, which shows we’re not overly reliant on any single player—an advantage in a long campaign. On the flip side, our defending remains a concern. Clean sheets have been hard to come by, and we can’t always bank on outscoring the opposition. Defensive solidity is something we need to address immediately.

Looking Ahead to the Thimphu FC Challenge

Thimphu FC is enjoying a good run, particularly at the back. Their defense has been impressive, and today’s match will test our attacking unit. Speed is our biggest weapon, and we need to move the ball faster to unlock their backline and create chances.

Squad Update

There are no fresh injury concerns ahead of today’s fixture. However, we’ll be without Karma Shedrup Tshering due to his work commitments. That said, we’re confident in our bench strength and believe we have the depth to adapt effectively.
