5 Points: UA 0-2 City

1. Jason Hart. The best player in the league. The substitute slotted the all important second goal, which extinguished the hope of equaliser for the home team. It is his 4th goal in this league and is the top scorer of Thimphu City FC. Racing down with so much time and space, any other player could have easily scuffed the shot, but not with Jason. He showed calmness and predatory instincts to slot past the keeper. Jason is arguably the best player in this years edition of the National League.

2. Mipham. A proper defender in the making Mipham scored the first goal, with thumping header to silence the home crowd. It was his defending though, that deserves applause. He was dominant in the air, read the game well and made key interceptions. He is definitely growing and could become the top centre half in the country faster than anticipated.

3. Pitch. Unsafe and poor. UAFC ground is the only pitch in the National League which is basically a ‘ground’. All other matches are being played on artificial turf. The pitch was far to dry and hard. All the conventional match tactics are completely out of the equation on UA ground. It was difficult to make even a square pass, let alone the intricate through passes. Above all, the ground was lacking in one aspect: players safety. BFF should assess the condition and disallow the National League matches on that ground.

4. Lungtok Dawa. The unsung hero Without the first choice right back, Nima Wangdi, the position was without proper backup. Ever since taking the right back position Longtok have been silently putting in decent performances. He is a quick and highly disciplined player. Every team needs such disciplined and versatile player. With him taking up the right back position, the makeshift City defence have racked up consecutive clean sheets.

5. Trickiest 3 points. UA away is one of the toughest and trickiest fixture of the season. With hard surface and ball bouncing all over the place, the match tactics needs special approaches. The small size of the pitch also makes the game difficult. It was a return to the academy for many city players. A fair amount of emotion was involved in the game. Coming away with 3 points at UA, is a big step for the remainder of the season.
