Thimphu City FC will kickoff its title defending campaign on May 22, 2021, welcoming newly promoted Gomo FC.
In what is going to be another year of its own, there will be no time to slack as the defending champions will have less than a month to prepare for its first of 18 games. Boys were in a 21-day mandatory quarantine on entry until April 30 following a visit to Maldives to fulfill our continental commitment. Despite having the advantage of commencing our preparation early, the president, Hishey Tshering, stated that the quarantine is expected to take a toll on our fitness. However he reiterated that there will be no excuses and the team will prepare accordingly. Head coach Ngawang added that the boys are determined to make up for the time lost. “We will come out stronger than ever.” he said.
