Thimphu City FC will be eager to get back on track after last Sunday’s dismal loss as they prepare to face High Quality United tomorrow.
Despite the 2-1 defeat to Druk Lhayul, City still remains in command of its own fate. Only now, they must win all three of their remaining games to successfully defend their championship. The ride will not be a pleasant one for the boys in red as the remaining games are against the heavyweights of Bhutanese football. To make matters worse, TCFC will be without two of the key players when they face fourth placed High Quality United this Saturday.
Following his yellow card in the last game, midfield maestro Orgyen will not be available for selection. In BPL, if a player receives two yellow cards in as many games, he must serve a one-match suspension. Orgyen will be absent for only the second time this season.
Phuntsho Jigme is another player who will be missed. Bella was controversially given marching orders against Druk Lhayul. This season, he’s been a consistent starter, creating a good defensive partnership with Norbu. His aerial threat has come in handy for the team as he has scored some of the crucial goals.
On a more positive note, City’s number 7 has returned considerably sooner than planned. Kencho Tobgay has started training with rest of his teammates and only needs the boss’ approval to play games.
