Pakistan Defender Khurshid Alam Joins Renowned South Asian Football Club

Alam, known for his robust defending and tactical awareness, emerged as a promising talent during his time with the Pakistan U19 squad. His move to Thimphu City FC follows a growing trend of Pakistani players seeking opportunities abroad to enhance their careers. The club, a dominant force in Bhutanese football, is renowned for its competitive ethos and consistent success in the Premier League.

Shadab Iftikhar, who assumed the managerial role at Thimphu City in March 2025 after a stint with Wigan Athletic, brings a wealth of international experience, having coached in Mongolia, Samoa, and Pakistan. His familiarity with Alam’s playing style is expected to facilitate a seamless integration into the squad. Meanwhile, Alamgir Ghazi, a dynamic midfielder celebrated for his vision and work rate, joined Thimphu City earlier in April, further strengthening the team’s midfield.
